LAMS Cross Country

The Los Alamos Middle School (LAMS) Cross Country teams traveled to Alamosa, Colo., Saturday, Sept. 10 to compete in the Joe Vigil Invitational.

Both LAMS Hawk Boys and Girls were team champions in the 3k race.

The Girls won with 31 points to runner-up Salida Middle School’s 95 points. The Hawk scorers were led by Ensley Jorgenson, who finished 4th overall in a time of 12:41. She was followed by Amelia Hill, 7th overall in 12:51, Alyissa Alire, 10th in 12:56, Elizabeth Buck, 11th in 12:58, and Grace Evans, 14th in 13:02.

The Boys won with 54 points to runner-up Rocky Ford Middle School’s 90 points. The Hawk scorers were led by 7th grader Diego Leonard, who finished 2nd overall in a time of 11:18. He was followed by Zach Gibson, 6th in 11:40, Ian McClean, 12th in 11:52, Ethan Moody, 20th in 12:21, and Koen Christensen, 21st in 12:22.

The Los Alamos Middle School teams next run at the Rio Rancho Jamboree Saturday, Sept. 17 at Rio Rancho High School.
