Out of a highly competitive pool of more than 450 nominees, Los Alamos National Bank’s Anne Kain has been chosen as one of 30 honorees in the 2015 Women of Influence.

Albuquerque Business First asked the public to nominate women who are leaders, innovators, mentors and role models. A panel of judges including Edna Lopez of COMPA, Steve Becerra of The Becerra Group, Duffy Swan of French Funerals, Patty Kehoe of Molina Healthcare and Carolyn Ortega of The Atrisco Heritage Foundation, evaluated the women across six industry categories. They made their final selections on each individual’s professional achievement, leadership and community involvement.

Kain, 42, is vice president and cashier of LANB. She has a longtime history of volunteer service with organizations such as Quality New Mexico and the Espanola Valley Humane Society.

“I’m really honored to receive this award and to have the opportunity to continue working with these organizations to make the state a better place to live for everyone,” Kain told the Los Alamos Daily Post during an interview Friday.

Born in San Diego, Kain moved with her family in 1972 to Los Alamos. She graduated in 1990 from Los Alamos High School and earned her MBA in 2001 from UNM in Albuquerque.

Kain and the other Women of Influence will be honored at an awards ceremony March 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Albuquerque.
