Kenneth L. “Ken” Groves, Fellow of the Health Physics Society (HPS), retired U.S. Navy Commander and former Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) senior manager is the 2024 recipient of the HPS Distinguished Public Service Award.
Groves joins two other New Mexicans, Senator Pete Domenici, and Pete Lyons, distinguished scientist at Los Alamos, as well as a former commissioner at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and DOE Nuclear Energy’s assistant secretary as one of the 11 recipients of this award.

LANL: Floodplain Statement Of Findings Issued For Travel-Time Equipment Installation

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) is proposing new construction at several locations across Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to estimate travel times.
Two of the locations are within the lower Sandia Canyon floodplain. The proposed installations are intended to estimate vehicle travel times and post the information on existing electronic message signs to inform LANL commuters with traffic updates and gather data for current and future transportation planning.

Have you been noticing more garbage than usual in your Facebook feed? You aren’t imagining it, between spam accounts and AI generated junk, there’s a definite increase.
This summer I noticed something a little creepy in my feed. I’d get notifications that a page had changed its name, and it was always something wildly different than what the original page had been.
