LAPS News:
Los Alamos Public Schools announced today the hiring of Maya Cameron as Human Resources Director.
“I am a proud product of the Los Alamos School System and look forward to returning to work in the district,” Cameron said.
Cameron is an experienced Human Resources professional with “a passion for driving results and creating change”.
“It is always exciting to have former LAPS students return to the community and the school district to share their talent and skills,” Superintendent Jennifer Guy said. “Ms. Cameron is a teacher who has unique experience in schools and working in Human Resources. She brings energy and enthusiasm to the role and will be a great asset to the district.”
Cameron is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she holds a bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology and two Master of Arts degrees in Teaching and Human Resources Management.
Most recently, she worked in the Automotive Industry for a Tier 1 Automotive supplier, leading change management and recruiting efforts while solving complex problems. She is also a former educator in the Richland School District 2 in South Carolina.
Cameron said that in her free time she loves traveling and enjoys trying new recipes.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Ms. Cameron back to Los Alamos and introducing her to the community,” Superintendent Guy said.
Cameron will join the LAPS staff later this month.
