LARSO NEWS:

The Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO), Los Alamos Teen Center and Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse will host an afternoon exploring the science of tea. The community is invited to this highly interactive and relaxed afternoon, 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.

Participants will taste six different types of tea, each paired with small bites prepared by the Senior Center’s talented chefs. Attendees will learn how terroir, cultivars, and processing affect the chemical composition of teas sourced from India, Japan, Nepal, and China, as well as how their own individual senses influence their experience with taste.

Tickets are $10 and available for purchase here. Ticket sales will close at 4 p.m., Friday, July 12. This event is for those age 13 and older.

The Los Alamos Senior Activity Centers offer classes, workshops, transportation, meals and much more for older adults in Los Alamos. The Betty Ehart and White Rock Centers are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Learn more at www.larso.org.
