The League of Women Voters of Los Alamos (LWV) and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) invite the community to the 2025 Legislative Preview, 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6 in Fuller Lodge. The community is invited to attend beginning at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy refreshments and conversation.
Legislators including Rep. Christine Chandler and Senators Leo Jaramillo and Roberto Gonzales will share their views on the upcoming session.
In addition, Kristina Fisher from Think New Mexico will present proposals for solving the healthcare-worker shortage.
The 2025 New Mexico 60-day Legislative Session begins at noon Tuesday, Jan. 21 at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe and continues to Saturday, March 22. By law, the New Mexico Legislature convenes annually in regular sessions at 12 noon on the third Tuesday in January.
The Legislature meets for 60 days in odd-numbered years, and 30 days in even-numbered years.
League Day at the Legislature
To learn more about two 2025 legislative priorities, plan to join League members on League Day at the Legislature, 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the New Mexico State Land Office. Attendees need not be a LWV member—just interested in engaging in the democratic process.
