Our little mountain town is undergoing an influx of people that have no respect for Rules of the Road, if it even exists anymore in order to obtain a driver’s license.
If I had a nickel for every time I saw a driver disregarding warning signs, stop signs, stop lights etc. in these past two years I’d be able to pay my mortgage for the next two months!
How come one never sees a police vehicle until AFTER an accident?
What are the already overtaxed roads in this town going to be like when all the new apartment complexes are occupied with new arrivals in town? What kind of a police department will be here if traffic violators aren’t controlled now?
Oh, and here’s another little ditty. This town is being promoted as a tourist town with the recent hoopla over former lab director Oppenheimer and the Manhattan Project. Millions of dollars are being spent on new sidewalks around Fuller Lodge and accommodating hiking trails when traffic violations and understaffed police control goes begging for more personnel and funding.
Hello! Is anyone in county government paying attention to necessities like public safety?
I don’t want to be out on the roads here in town and become a public fatality statistic and I feel like I’m not alone in that respect.
