By Jenny McCumberI remember voting yes for the school bond more than a decade ago to rebuild the high school. Our family was relatively new to Los Alamos. Life was very full with three boys in elementary school.
Things have changed a lot for us.
Then: If you don’t go back to bed and go to sleep … (insert useless consequence).
Now: If you don’t wake up and get out of bed … (insert different useless consequence).

Then: I want 30 minutes of quiet where no one is asking me a question, talking to me or otherwise requiring my attention.
Now: Can’t you talk for five minutes and tell me about your day?
Then: I’m definitely going to vote yes. I want my children to have newer, safer school facilities. It will benefit their education.
Now: I’m definitely going to vote yes. I am so grateful for the educational experience my children have had. I want to pay it forward and have newer, safer facilities for the younger children in our community.
No matter where you are in life, voting for education is always right.
