LIBRARY News:

Los Alamos County Library has announced the next phase of re-opening with COVID-Safe Practices in place.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, both Mesa Public Library and the White Rock Branch Library will take reservations for use of the Library’s internet computers.

Reservations may be made for 45-minute sessions between the hours of 2-6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Patrons may have one outstanding reservation at a time and may make a subsequent reservation upon completion of their reserved computer session.

To make a reservation, call 505.662.8250 between 2-6 p.m. Monday through Friday or email libweb@lacnm.us.

The Library will be closed Saturday, Sept. 5 to Monday, Sept. 7 for the Labor Day weekend. When requesting a reservation by voicemail or email, wait for Library staff to confirm your reservation before coming to the Library. Walk in reservations are not available.

Computer users may be accompanied by one additional individual (minor child or another adult providing computer assistance). Do not arrive more than five minutes before your scheduled appointment.

During this phase only those with computer reservations are allowed into the Library. Access to collections, use of the copier, study rooms, and meeting rooms is not permitted at this time.

Curbside pick up for items on hold continues to be available at both locations 2-6 p.m., Monday through Friday, as is wi-fi access outside of the Library.

The Library is implementing several COVID-19 precautions to protect the safety of users and staff. Masks are required for all Library users and for staff. Do not visit the Library if you are ill or if any member of your household is ill. Computer keyboards and mice are cleaned between reservations and hand sanitizer will be available. Staff will provide assistance with computers if a six-foot distance is maintained.
