Can you believe we are mid-summer already? It’s our country’s birthday and time to celebrate! My family loves fireworks. We are blessed enough to watch them from our deck, so the day will be filled with good eats – ribs on the barbeque, lawn games, probably even a trip to the pool.

It doesn’t take much to decorate for Independence Day. You can decorate with food, flowers, and lawn decorations. Follow these guidelines for a red, white and blue, patriotic celebration.

Pastor Raul Granillo: Christianity 101

By Pastor RAUL GRANILLO
Los Alamos

Christianity 101.

“I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise” (Ps. 101: 1).

The 101st Psalm is a great message of the simplicity of Christian living. Within this short work of David, you Read More

By KENT PEGG
Los Alamos

Having spent the better part of the last 25 years in the gym, it’s sometimes easy to take for granted how to use the equipment I utilize in my daily weight lifting workout. For those of you with a little less gym experience, it might be good to review some of the equipment you might encounter when entering the gym.

One type of equipment you’ll encounter is selectorized, or circuit, training machines. These big metal monsters have an attached weight stack that allows you to select the amount of weight you’ll be lifting. Cables or, better yet, Kevlar belts connect the weight stack Read More
