Boys and Girls Invited to Participate in Annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition

Boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.
The local competition will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 from at Los Alamos High School’s Griffith Gymnasium.
Registration will be held onsite beginning at 12:30 p.m. and it’s free of charge.

Submit Beef Recipe for Chance to Win $25,000

Cooks, start your ovens … the New Mexico Beef Council is calling for home cooks throughout New Mexico to submit their favorite recipes to the 2013 National Beef Cook-Off for a chance to win $25,000 and a trip to the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show in Washington, D.C. in November, 2013.
New Mexico home cooks can submit their best beef recipes through April 15, online at www.beefcookoff.org.
This is the 30th National Beef Cook-Off® competion and this year’s contest theme is “Making the Most of MyPlate,” which encourages delicious, healthy recipes

The restaurant will welcomes back the Tom Rheam Trio featuring Tom Rheam on piano and trumpet, Dick Hogle on drums and vocals and David Moir on bass.
Rheam has played on the road with Ray Charles, played backup to Frank Sinatra on recordings, toured with the Glenn Miller Band and many other well-known professional singers and musicians.

The Family YMCA is offering an Endurance Training for Cyclists Class. Each class will have a 2-hour riding component and a 1/2 hour of core conditioning.

- 1/4 cup egg substitute
- 1/2(+) cup good grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup of regular Parmesan cheese (Kraft)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
