Los Alamos’s first cannabis shop is gearing up for another first, “Ask Me Anything About Cannabis!”
Local entrepreneur and Wheeed! owner Jonathan LeDuc is hosting a series of educational classes focusing on various topics surrounding the newly legalized cannabis. Cannabis or marijuana, was first legalized for recreational use in New Mexico through the signing of House Bill 2, the Cannabis Regulation Act, by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in April 2021. This allowed for the first licensed sale of recreational cannabis beginning April 1, 2022.
The first class in the series, “Ask Me Anything About Cannabis”, is 6:15-7 p.m., Monday, April 3 at projectY cowork space at 150 Central Park Square. This class will be held in an open discussion-style forum, encouraging anyone 21 years of age or older to attend and ask burning questions they may have surrounding cannabis.
Throughout the series, held between April 3-June 5, classes will address sustainable cultivation, biodynamic growing, and environmentally friendly cultivation practices. Alongside the knowledge of LeDuc, the classes will also feature Sterling Webb, Owner/Operator Sterfrie Genetics Seed Co., Los Alamos; Jen & Will Silverman, Owner/Operators Sol Flower Farms, Rio Arriba; and Peter Mosey, Owner/Operator Tumbleweed Farms, Ojo Caliente. Each speaker will address and highlight a new topic, allowing for diverse and exciting information to be gained by attendees. “Each class is for educational and informational purposes only,” LeDuc said. “There will be no consumption, possession, or selling of cannabis at these events.”
Whether you attend one class or fulfill the series, these classes are an open and safe space for anyone over the age of 21 to ease into the world of what cannabis is all about.
Wheeed! first opened its doors in April of 2022. It is on the first floor of 555 Oppenheimer Dr. in Los Alamos.
No registration is required. For more information, visit https://www.wheeed.us/ or contact Jonathan LeDuc at wheeed.la@gmail.com.
