Los Alamos Beer Co-op Announces ‘The 300’ Fall Membership Drive

LABC News:

The Los Alamos Beer Co-op has made great progress in its recent campaign to open a craft brewery in Los Alamos.

Earlier this summer, the Co-op:

  • purchased a used 3.5 barrel brewing system from Bosque Brewing in Albuquerque; and
  • signed a lease on a brewery and tasting room building in downtown Los Alamos.

Now, with both state and federal licenses submitted for approval and renovations underway at the new brewery location, the Co-op is well on its way to meeting its goal of opening Los Alamos’ first craft brewery in early 2015.

But opening a brewery is an expensive endeavor. In order to complete renovations, hire a brewer and get to the most important part of this process – brewing beer – the LABC needs to raise another $100,000 through memberships, member loans and additional capital.

In the next two months, the LABC hopes to recruit 300 new members to support the cause of bringing locally brewed craft beer to Los Alamos. Toward this end, the LABC is announcing a fall membership drive with an array of incentives for members both old and new.

“Our goal is to get that additional 300 members, boosting us to a stronger financial position,” LABC Board President Micheline Devaurs said.

During the months of October and November:

  • NEW Members will receive a FREE LABC pint glass and token for one free beer;
  • Existing members will receive a token for one free beer for each new member they recruit; and
  • Member Loan Incentives (including more free beer and other excellent rewards) can now be earned by recruiting new members or new investors.
