- Councilors will join Council meeting virtually; some County services impacted; more testing
Due to an increase in COVID-19 positive cases in the community, Los Alamos County Councilors will be attending the Tuesday, Jan. 11 meeting virtually.
While the special session is advertised as a hybrid meeting, County officials strongly encourage members to join virtually using the Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86379958681 or by phone (720) 707-2699. Additional phone numbers and a copy of the complete agenda are available on the County’s Legistar website.
County Manager Steven Lynne asks the community for patience as the recent uptick of cases impacts some County services.
“To protect our public and our employees, we adhere to the New Mexico Department of Health guidelines for staff to self-isolate and quarantine when there is a positive case,” Lynne said. “Unfortunately, reducing the spread can mean that some Departments are short-staffed.”
Los Alamos staff will issue additional announcements with information on specific impacts to services as they are known. Where possible, Lynne asks citizens to conduct business remotely with the County.
Lynne also explains that staff is exploring expanding the number of days that polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID testing is available in the County, adding that he hopes to have this service in place as soon as possible.
