COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County, in collaboration with Vitalant, is hosting a blood drive to address the declining number of blood donations in the United States.

Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Tuesday, May 21, the blood drive will take place in the Municipal Building parking lot at 1000 Central Ave.

Blood donations are essential for saving lives, as there is no substitute for human blood. Many patients, including those undergoing surgeries, battling cancer, or facing emergencies, rely on blood transfusions for survival. However, the number of Americans who donate blood is decreasing, posing a significant challenge to maintaining an adequate blood supply.

To participate in this life-saving initiative, interested individuals are encouraged to make an appointment at htt.ps://donors.vitalant.org/ using the Blood Drive Code LACNM or call Laura at 505.2461490.

Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome.
