SPORTS News:
Los Alamos County (Los Alamos and White Rock Little Leagues combined) fielded two teams of 9-10 year-old who participated in the New Mexico District 1 post-season tournament last week at Lucero Center Fields in Espanola.
Both teams competed throughout the week with the “Gold Team” achieving a record of two wins and one loss before being eliminated by Espanola Red. The Los Alamos “Green” team had an impressive week by going undefeated and outscoring their opponents 50-2 as they captured the District 1 Title Sunday in a win against Espanola Red.
LA Green now advances to the State Tournament that is being hosted by District 5 Roadrunner Little League in Albuquerque. LA will face Las Vegas (District 4) at 5:30 p.m., Friday to kick off the tournament.
