Los Alamos High School Seniors Earn Honor Cords

Sixteen Los Alamos High School seniors received honor cords during a reception held at Los Alamos High School recognizing the Los Alamos Early College and Career Academy Class of 2024.

Students receiving honor cords this year include Megan Brown, John Cawkwell, Gabriel Cook, Tyler Crockett, Ryland Ferran, Elissa Jones, Aspen Kendall, Shaun Kilde, Brian Martinez, Mia Martinez, Marissa Meierdierks, Moorea Montano, Sofia Parra, Angelina Passalacqua, Brandon Stokes and Alexandra Vinyard.

They will wear their cords during the LAHS graduation ceremony on Saturday. In addition, they were also able to participate in the UNM-Los Alamos graduation ceremony held earlier this month.

LAECCA is a program that operates within the high school and partners with UNM-LA. It offers three pathways to complete a certification by taking dual credit courses with the goal of completing 30+ hours of college credit and graduating with a high school diploma and a certification in Robotics, Business/Marketing or Emergency Medical Services.

Elissa Jones  was awarded Robotics certification. Megan Brown, Marissa Meierdierks, Veronica Parra, Brandon Stokes and Alexandra Vinyard  were awarded their EMT certifications.
