The Los Alamos High School Hilltopper Girls and Boys Track & Field teams continued their winning and record-breaking ways Friday and Saturday at the highly competitive Richard Harper Memorial Invite at Albuquerque Academy.
The ‘Topper Girls doubled runner-up Albuquerque Academy’s score, 123-61, while the Boys beat 5A powerhouse Cleveland 105-82. In the process, the Girls set two and the Boys set five new LAHS School Records!
Friday started with Jaiya Daniels adding yet another LAHS School Record to her tally, when she leaped 19’ 5-1/2” to win the long jump. Already this season she has set new school records in the triple jump and 200 m.
Then senior Alex “Boom” Pasulka pulled off the first of a double, breaking a 37 year-old LAHS School Record by finishing the 400 m prelims with a time of 48.67 seconds. In the 400 m finals on Saturday, Boom broke his own record (and won the event) with a time of 48.61 seconds.
