And just like that, 2024 and the holiday season are reaching their conclusions. But before the holiday decorations are packed away and another page gets torn from the calendar, local leaders are seizing the opportunity to offer their well-wishes and season greetings to the community.
Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Thom Mason:
- “The Laboratory is only as strong as the communities around it, and without the support of our regional workforce and partnerships, our mission would not be possible. Our institution has been inextricably bonded with Los Alamos County for nearly 80 years, and that close connection has played a major role in our continued success. As we reflect on the importance of community during this festive time of year, I want to wish each of you a very safe and happy holiday season.”
Los Alamos County Manager Anne Laurent:
- “Wishing the community a peaceful holiday season filled with joy and kindness. Take good care of yourselves and each other.”
Deputy County Manager Juan Rael:
- “As we look back on 2024, we can all reflect on the positive changes we made and the commitment to continue trying to move Los Alamos County forward. I want to thank all the dedicated staff here at the County for a great year and recognize all those employees that will be working the holidays to keep all of us safe. Cheers to a great 2025!”
County Council Chair Denise Dekacs:
- “Wishing the residents of Los Alamos County a safe and happy holiday season surrounded by family and friends.”
Fire Chief Troy Hughes:
- “Wishing all of Los Alamos a safe and happy holiday season. In spite of the holiday pressures, please be kind and watch for opportunities to lend a hand or a bit of your precious time to those in need this holiday season.”
Police Commander Chris Ross:
- “Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and please be safe and responsible.”
Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation Executive Director Lauren McDaniel:
- “As we wrap up 2024, I’m grateful for the community’s support of our local businesses, and for our entrepreneurs’ resilience, creativity, and dedication. Wishing all of Los Alamos a memorable and relaxing holiday with family and friends, and let’s look forward to a new year filled with more opportunities for growth, collaboration, and success.”
Los Alamos Public Schools Superintendent Jennifer Guy:
- “I wish everyone a safe, happy holiday. I hope everyone experiences joy and kindness this season. I look forward to seeing all of our students and staff at school in 2025!”
University of New Mexico-Los Alamos Chancellor Mike Holtzclaw:
- “Happy Holidays to all in our community! Wishing everyone a joyous time with family and friends and looking forward to great things in the coming year.”
It is often said that time flies, but the clock hasn’t run out yet in 2024 so there is time for a few quick words: happy holidays everyone, and happy New Year from the Los Alamos Daily Post news team!
