Photo by April BrownSean McNally, 31, with an address at the Motel 6 in Los Alamos was arrested Saturday, April 22 following a disturbance at Smith’s Marketplace. He was charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct – boisterous, loud or profane language.
An incident report filed by Cpl. Sheldon Simpson states that he responded to Smith’s Marketplace after LAPD Dispatch reported a disturbance between a man and a woman in the women’s restroom. While Simpson was on his way, Dispatch notified him that the man was walking around the store yelling and cursing at customers and staff.
On arrival, Simpson said he made contact with a homeless man known to him from a previous encounter as McNally, who was speaking to Sgt. Monica Salazar. McNally allegedly told Simpson he was in the restroom when a woman came in and started yelling at him. McNally allegedly said he wanted people “arrested” for stealing from him. When Simpson asked him what had been stolen from him, he allegedly “went on a rant” about computers and hackers, claiming that all the customers were being stolen from without even knowing it.
Simpson said contact was made with a woman who stated that she walked toward the bathroom and noticed the sign on the door read vacant. As she opened the door to enter she reportedly observed a man in a long sleeve brown shirt, sitting on the bathroom sink with his pants pulled down and holding his private parts in his hand. Simpson said the woman stated that the man “smirked” at her, then jumped off the sink and tried to shut the door while she was still inside. She reportedly stated that she ran out of the restroom and yelled at an employee to call the police. She stated that a few seconds later McNally walked out of the door yelling, “You stupid b—- you should have knocked”. She said that store employees intervened and he started getting aggressive and yelling and cursing at everyone in the area, according to the police report.
The report also states that several firefighters heard the commotion from the back of the store and went to the front to see if they could assist. McNally was placed under arrest and transported to the Los Alamos County Detention Center.
