NMDOT News:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is hosting a public information meeting and open house on the N.M. 502 Roadway Reconstruction at 5 p.m. today in the Pajarito Room at Fuller Lodge at 2132 Central Ave.
Public Meeting Purpose: NMDOT is sponsoring this meeting to discuss the roadway reconstruction improvements to CN 5100650R3 on N.M. 502 (Trinity Drive) MP 1.257 to MP 2.053 in Los Alamos County.
Meeting Overview: NMDOT representatives, Souder, Miller & Assoc. and Star Paving will discuss and present an overview of the N.M. 502 Los Alamos Roadway Reconstruction Project CN 5100650R3. After the presentation, NMDOT representatives will accept comments and questions from the public.
Project Scope:
This project will improve N.M. 502 through Los Alamos between Kneckt Street and Tewa Loop for a total project length of 0.8 miles. This project will include roadway reconstruction, earthwork, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete retaining walls, storm drain, landscaping, permanent signing, lighting, traffic signalizations, and utilities. The project also will replace the existing intersection at N.M. 502 and Central Avenue with a roundabout to improve traffic flow through Los Alamos.
The project cost is $10.8 million. This is a 350 working day project. The project is anticipated to be completed the winter of 2020; weather permitting. Star Paving Company out of Albuquerque is the contractor for the project.
