Los Alamos Public Library’s Community Steward Series: A Conversation With County Manager Anne Laurent March 21

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Public Library will host Los Alamos County’s new Manager Anne Laurent for an evening of conversation and discussion 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21.

As part of the evening’s conversation, Laurent will tell the story of her career, her vision for Los Alamos County and answer questions about the challenges and successes of being a woman in the workplace, in leadership and in the public eye.

This event is part of the Los Alamos Public Library’s Community Steward series of discussions with local experts and leaders. As March is Women’s History Month, many of the topics of discussion will focus on the world and experiences from a woman’s perspective.

With degrees in architecture and public administration, Laurent’s trajectory in public service began in Arizona and Michigan before coming to Los Alamos County in 2008. Here, she has overseen many public works and building projects including the Municipal Building, Justice Center, Animal Shelter, White Rock Visitor’s Center, White Rock Branch Library, Youth Activity Center and many more.

In 2021, Laurent became deputy county manager and on March 4, 2024 took on the role of county manager following the retierement of Steve Lynne.

This event is free and open to the public. As there is limited seating in Mesa Public Library, attendees must register in advance. For information about the event, to register, or for more information about the library, visit LosAlamosLibrary.org.
