LWV Virtual Lunch With A Leader Noon Tuesday Feb. 16

LWV News:

This month’s League of Women Voters’ community event “Lunch with a Leader” is noon Tuesday, Feb. 16, via zoom. (Next month meeting is on Thursday again.)

Our leader will be Jennifer Guy, assistant superintendent of Los Alamos Public Schools. She will talk about remote learning and the hybrid model and how both of those are working. By the time she meets with us, both middle school and high school students will be in hybrid model as of Feb. 8, as well as preK-6 that has been attending off and on in hybrid model.

Guy has worked in education in New Mexico for the past 29 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from New Mexico State University, a Master’s degree in Pedagogy and Learning with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Eastern New Mexico University.

Guy has worked in districts around the state at a variety of grade levels and in a variety of roles, including teaching at Piñon Elementary and as the principal at Mountain Elementary. She has worked as a mentor teacher in the district and around the state for many years.

Guy and her husband John moved to Los Alamos 13 years ago with their three boys. John grew up in Los Alamos and they said they have been honored to have the opportunity to raise their family in Los Alamos.
