The Santa Fe Symphony’s (SFS) first four performances presented in its fall 2020 virtual concert series have reached thousands of viewers from around the world since its inaugural virtual concert, Canyon Echoes, Oct. 11—filmed on the majestic 21,000 acres of Ghost Ranch.
Christmas Treasures, the fifth and final concert in its fall 2020 virtual series premieres at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13. This brilliant program, beautifully filmed by Hutton Broadcasting at the iconic Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, features Symphony String ensembles, a Horn Quartet, and the debut of Principal Conductor Guillermo Figueroa in The Symphony’s innovative new virtual season.
As with all of The Symphony’s virtual performances, viewers can experience this hour-long digital holiday concert from anywhere. Christmas Treasures is filmed in high-definition with amazing close-ups of the musicians, Figueroa, and the Cathedral, and presents Handel’s glorious Messiah Overture and Pastoral Symphony, as well as Corelli’s beloved Christmas Concerto, conducted by Maestro Guillermo Figueroa, plus holiday favorites by Bach, Berlin, Vaughan Williams, and more.
