SANTA FE — New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Superintendent Linda M. Trujillo Friday announced that Mark Sadowski has been named director of the Financial Institutions Division.
With over 36 years of financial institutions experience, Sadowski previously served as Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer with State Employees Credit Union, where he managed the effective operations and strategic direction of the Accounting & Finance, Electronic Payments Systems, and Electronic Channel Delivery Departments.
Sadowski will oversee a division that licenses and regulates over 21,000 financial institutions in New Mexico.
The division works closely with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve Banks, the National Credit Union Administration, and other federal and state regulatory bodies.
“Mark brings expertise and perspective to this position; he will advocate to protect consumers and advance the financial health of New Mexico by providing fair regulation of financial services and educating consumers to make informed financial decisions,” Superintendent Trujillo said.
Prior to working in New Mexico, Sadowski came from the State of Washington where he developed his financial institution experience in a variety of finance, operational, marketing, and technical positions. He has extensive knowledge of asset/liability management, investment management, and operational innovation and efficiency. A graduate of Southern Illinois University- Carbondale, Sadowski received a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a specialization in financial institution management and a minor in Economics.

Sadowski is also a volunteer Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Structural Firefighter I, and Certified Wildland Firefighter. Sadowski continues to serve as an EMS/Fire Lieutenant for the Cochiti Fire Department, Cochiti Lake, where he has volunteered since May 2016.
