Trying times call for travel and Martin Cooper will take community members on a virtual trip to Turkey at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14. 

Those wishing to attend must email Director@losalamosseniorcenter.com by at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14. (A current email address is necessary to view the event.)

“My favorite spots were Hattusa, the capital of the 3,600-year-old Hittite empire, and Antalya a city old town that has a very strong cultural flavor,” Cooper said. “The photos of the greater flamingos were especially satisfying because, they were taken at Sultan Sazligi, a marsh that I requested to visit and unknown to our tour guide.”

Martin and wife Beverly offered their first Zoom Travel presentation in October, in conjunction with the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO). The late afternoon trip on Zoom also provides an opportunity for questions during the presentation moderated through the chat and again after the slide show. Questions are moderated by a senior center employee and the technical assistance portion is hosted by volunteer John Baillie.

Cooper said he has received great, positive feedback and believes the process will be even easier as people learn to navigate Zoom.
