New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week With Events Statewide

ALBUQUERQUE  Sustaining Breastfeeding Together will take place Aug. 1–7 and is a collaborations of advocates, activists and those with decision-making power to promote and protect breastfeeding for anyone and everyone.
 
In New Mexico, the week will be celebrated with special events hosted by the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force (NMBTF) across the state.
 
“Our goal is to continue to advocate for and raise awareness for breastfeeding to cultivate communities that are supportive, and to protect the rights of New Mexico’s mothers and children,” said Erin Marshall, Executive Director of the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force. “We’re celebrating World Breastfeeding Week with a variety of fun and informative events across the state to bring breastfeeding moms and supporters together with the resources they need.”
 
The New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force will be holding events in the following areas:
 
Eddy County Chapter
 
World Breastfeeding Week Celebration Artesia.– 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Aug. 2
 
Central Park, Artesia

World Breastfeeding Week Celebration Carlsbad– 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. – Aug. 2
 
Riverwalk Recreation Center, 400 Riverwalk, Carlsbad

Four Corners Chapter
 
Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week Farmington – 6 p.m. – Aug. 1

The event will feature a free raffle and picnic, with WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors from Farmington and Bloomfield.
 
San Juan County Fair Baby Station – Aug. 8-13

The baby station provides a comfortable place to feed and change babies at the San Juan County Fair.
 
Greater Albuquerque Area Chapter
