New Mexico Democrats Celebrate First Day Of Voting

Communications Director Daniel Garcia

DPNM News:

Tuesday was the first day voters were able to cast ballots in the 2022 General Election. In-person absentee voting began Tuesday at County Clerks’ offices in all 33 counties. Expanded early voting locations open Oct. 22.

Tuesday also was the first day County Clerks can begin sending mail-in ballots to voters who requested one and the last day to register to vote or update registration by mail or online.

“Democrats are thrilled that voting is finally underway in New Mexico. As always, the Democratic Party encourages voters to vote at their earliest convenience. Democrats have made tremendous progress in New Mexico to make voting more accessible to all voters, especially those with jobs and families. With so many opportunities to cast a ballot early, there’s no reason for voters to wait,” Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) Communications Director Daniel Garcia said. “New Mexico voters know the future of reproductive rights, our environment and our democracy are all at stake this election, and with the enthusiasm our volunteers are hearing from voters, we expect a high turnout for a midterm election.”
