NMED News:
The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA) will host a public meeting 5:30-7 p.m., March 29, 2023 in accordance with Section VIII.C.3.d of the 2016 Order on Consent (CO).
NMED will host the meeting and EM-LA will present information concerning cleanup work completed in federal fiscal year (FFY) 2022 and the cleanup milestones and target dates for FFY 2023.
The Appendix B of the CO, which includes the FFY 2023 milestones and targets, is available on the NMED website under the Compliance Order on Consent at https://www.env.nm.gov/hazardous-waste/lanl/.
“This meeting gives the public an opportunity to learn what progress was made in the previous year and see what is in store for the next,” Resource Protection Division Director Rick Shean said. “I encourage stakeholders in the community to attend and participate in this planning process.”
The hybrid meeting will be held at Cities of Gold Hotel (Tribal Room), 10 Cities of Gold Road # A, Santa Fe, NM 87506 and also will be available via WebEx.
