New Mexico State Police And Commercial Motor Vehicle Strike Team Conduct CMV Operation Along Interstate 10 Corridor

Dec. 7, 2023, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers in Districts 4 and 12, alongside the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Strike Team conducted an operation targeting CMV left lane usage along the Interstate 10 Corridor from the Arizona to Texas border.

During the operation, New Mexico State Police officers conducted 38 CMV inspections, issued 19 CMV left lane usage citations, 1 distracted driver citation and 13 speeding citations. Four CMV drivers were placed out of service.

The safety of motorists is a top priority of the New Mexico State Police and officers will continue to monitor left lane usage by CMV drivers. Commercial Motor Vehicles provide a valuable service to the State of New Mexico and New Mexico State Police officers will ensure that they continue to do so safely by following the new law.
