New Mexico State Police Arrest 10 Individuals

NMSP News:

ROSWELL, HOBBS, CARLSBAD — New Mexico State Police (NMSP)  officers arrested 10 individuals between Feb. 6-9, 2024.

NMSP officers stationed in Roswell, Hobbs and Carlsbad arrested 10 individuals. Most of these arrests were made from officers being proactive and conducting high volume traffic stops.

Feb. 9, 2024, NMSP officers and Agents with Crime Suppression Bureau, arrested James Davidson, 49.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and learned Davidson had 2 active warrants for failure to appear on the charges of receiving, transferring stolen motor vehicle, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and driving while license revoked. His other warrant was for failure to comply with conditions of probation. He was arrested without incident.

Officers also arrested Jessica Garcia, 52, for aggravated DWI (more than four convictions). An officer was on a traffic stop when she heard what sounded like a traffic crash nearby. A vehicle approached her and said a blue Mitsubishi, driven by Garcia, had just hit them and was driving away.

The Mitsubishi passed the officer, and the officer stopped the vehicle and conducted a DWI investigation. Garcia was showing signs of impairment and was arrested for aggravated DWI, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting evading or obstructing an officer.

Officers issued 303 traffic citations, investigated three crashes, and conducted 35 Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections.

Being visible on the roadways, and increasing the number of interactions officers make with the public, allows officers to contact more individuals with outstanding warrants.
