New Mexico State Police In District 3 Arrest 13 Individuals

NMSP News:

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers arrested 13 individuals over the course of five days.

So far, the month of February for State Police officers stationed in Roswell, Hobbs and Carlsbad has produced a number of arrests. Officers were proactive in locating individuals with active warrants while ensuring the motoring public followed traffic laws.

Thirteen individuals were arrested on active warrants and one was arrested for DWI.

Feb. 4, 2024, an NMSP officer was dispatched to assist a Chaves County Deputy on a traffic stop. It was learned that the driver of the vehicle, Saguenti Garcia, 26, was showing signs of impairment and was Spanish speaking. The NMSP officer conducted standardized field sobriety tests. Garcia was then placed under arrest and transported to the Chaves County Detention Center for DWI.

Officers issued 248 traffic citations, investigated seven crashes, and placed four Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) and two CMV drivers out of service.
