ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Uniform Bureau had a productive month in March when it came to arrests around Bernalillo County.
“Operation Takeback” shows how the Uniform Bureau makes a difference on a daily basis with every encounter they come across while on patrol.
For the month of March 2024, officers of the NMSP Uniform Bureau have been making arrests and keeping the motoring public safe throughout Albuquerque.
During that time, NMSP activity included:
- Felony Arrests: 6
- Misdemeanor Arrests: 5
- DWI Arrests: 71
- Traffic Stops: 587
- Traffic Citations: 208
Officers also investigated three DWI related crashes and held a DWI checkpoint. Since the beginning of January, “Operation Takeback” has resulted in 244 DWI arrests.
“Our dedicated officers have demonstrated their commitment to public safety through ‘Operation Takeback’. Their relentless efforts in making arrests, conducting traffic stops, and ensuring the safety of our community members have shown tangible results,” NMSP Chief Troy Weisler said. “We remain steadfast in our mission to uphold the law and protect the motoring public, making our streets safer for everyone.”
NMSP will continue conducting proactive operations in Albuquerque in 2024.
