DPU Notice Of Possible Quorum:
The Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for its Electric Vehicle DC Fast Charger noon to 1 p.m. Monday, July 15 at the Los Alamos County Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave.
Members of the Board of Public Utilities may be present. Board members will not discuss any business and no action will be taken.
Facts:
- The Max power capacity of each charger is 62.5 kW.
- The cost to use the chargers is $0.35/kWh, payable through a required ChargePoint account.
- Chargers are available 24 hours per day.
- The ChargePoint app indicates if chargers are available.
- Los Alamos County’s first DC fast chargers for electric vehicles (EV) are at the Los Alamos County Municipal Building (May 28, 2024) and the White Rock Visitors Center (early July 2024).
- In the first 30 days of service at the Municipal Building, the DC fast charger saw an average charging session of 31 minutes.
- There are nine DC fast chargers in Rio Arriba County, 24 in Santa Fe County and 57 in Bernalillo County.
- New Mexico has a total of 243 EV charging stations. These include a variety of chargers, of which 221 are DC fast chargers.
