Obituary: Beverly Siglock Jan. 29, 1937–Feb. 16, 2021

BEVERLY EUGENIA SIGLOCK Jan. 29, 1937 – Feb. 16, 2021

Beverly Eugenia Siglock passed into the Lords hands surrounded by family on Tuesday February 16th of natural age-related causes.

Beverly Eugenia Siglock was born on January 29, 1937 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Clark and Virginia Seay. Six days after her birth, her parents were diagnosed with Tuberculosis and were moved to a Tuberculosis sanitarium for 4 years.

During this timeframe Beverly was cared for by family relatives in Pawhuska, OK, the Wells family. Beverly always considered this timeframe as a blessing as her early upbringing was molded by her Momma Emma and Daddy Ted, brothers Ted (Billy) and Don and sister Betty who were always considered as her second family.

When Beverly’s parents were released from the TB sanitorium, she was able to finally be raised by her mother and father but continued to include the Wells family as part of her extended family throughout her life.

In 1947, Beverly moved to Los Alamos, NM when her father took a job with the National Laboratory. Beverly would spend most of the next 50 years in Los Alamos.

In 1954, in her junior year of high school she met the love of her life, Walter Siglock. They remained high school sweethearts as she was a majorette and cheered for Walter in the three sports that he played.  They married after their senior year of high school and would stay married for 65 years, until her final day here on earth.

In 1956, Walter and Bev welcomed into the world their first of four children, Nancy Ann. Soon thereafter Walter joined the US Army and Beverly became an Army wife for the next 3 years. During this timeframe they relocated to Fort Rucker, Alabama, where they meet many life-long friends and welcomed their second child into the world Donald Gene.

In 1959 Walt and Bev moved back to Los Alamos where they started their long work careers while expanding their family with son’s Stephen Dean and Mark Andrew. Walter began a long career in retail sales working at White’s Auto and eventually managing and owning the family business, Thunderbird Shoe Store of which Beverly was the CEO and bookkeeper. Though Thunderbird Shoe Store was Walt and Bev’s main business, Bev also used her many talents to touch the lives of so many children in the Los Alamos community as she worked with children with special needs for many years, first as their bus driver, then transitioning to their teacher. This job was always considered Bev’s best and most cherished job.

Throughout Bev’s years in Los Alamos, she and Walt raised their four children, but they also positively touched and influenced the lives of their many nieces and nephews who would come to stay with the Siglock family.

In 1997 Bev and Walt decided to sell Thunderbird Shoe Store and move to the Albuquerque metro to start a new life of retirement. In retirement, Walt and Bev’s home became the center piece for family visits from their children, grand-children, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends. Beverly’s love of God and family was her greatest gift to all that knew her. She had the most accepting heart and would listen to those that needed advice and would openly accept each person for who they were. Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by family and friends and sharing life stories. A trait her family hopes to carry on in her memory.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband Walter of 65 years, children Nancy Siglock Hinrichs and husband Dave, Stephen Siglock and wife Aurora, Mark Siglock and wife Lisa Cash, daughter in-law Linda Siglock, brother David Seay and many grand-children and great grand-children.

Beverly is proceeded in death by her parents Clark and Virginia and son Donald Gene.

Due to current health concerns the family will honor her wishes of cremation and future celebration of life. Her true wish for those she is leaving behind is to shower the people you love with love and show them the way you feel.
