ERIK ARNDT Oct. 29, 1988 – March 24, 2023

A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Erik Arndt, 34 years of age, perished in an auto collision on March 24, 2023.

Erik was born October 29, 1988, in Anaheim, California to Pamela and Max Arndt. He grew up alongside his younger brother, Kurt, in Mission Viejo, California, where they spent most of their childhood.

After graduating from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s in American Studies, he briefly moved to Phoenix, AZ, then eventually settled in Los Alamos, NM, where he worked at Los Alamos Medical Center.

Among many things, Erik loved science fiction. Especially that of the zombie variety. He enjoyed the development of all the characters, and the intriguing what-if scenarios that often sparked some pretty amazing conversations amongst his friends and family. Erik also loved to travel. While visiting Greece and Turkey was probably one of his more spectacular trips, he also loved exploring new places where he lived, like Sedona, Roswell, Red River, among many, many others.

Gaming also played a huge roll in Erik’s life. Whether it was video games, cards, chess, or roleplaying, he was always down for a round or two. He even flew to Indianapolis to attend GenCon one year. Erik was also the beloved commissioner of a fantasy football league, “The Fighting Mongooses”.

Anyone who spent more than 5 minutes with Erik knew that he was like no one they had ever met before. He struck a chord with everyone he spent time with, even if it was a brief encounter. People from every walk of life enjoyed Erik’s company. He was supportive, loyal, truly unbiased, a good listener, and the most genuine person any of us may ever know. He has added so much to the lives of everyone he shared this life with.

Erik is survived by his mother Pam, brother Kurt, sister-in-law Lauren, nephew Merrik, niece Mylah, and his closest friends Matty, Ryan, Mike, Amber, Karen, and Nick. He will be deeply missed, and forever loved.
