SANDRA DARLEEN HUMPTON April 9, 1965 – Feb. 4, 2022

Sandra Darleen Humpton (Henton) went home to be with Jesus on February 4, 2022.

Sandy was born on April 9, 1965, in Downey, California to Reford and Kathleen Henton.

She met the love of her life Jeff Humpton in 1987 and they were married the following year on September 3, 1988, in Costa Mesa, California.

They moved to Riverside, California where they purchased their first home in October of 1989. There they welcomed their only child Rachael (Humpton) McGuire in February of 1991. Sandy loved being a mom to Rachael. Dressing her up in the cutest outfits brought her such joy.

In 1996 the Humpton family moved to New Mexico, where Sandy went to work at Smith’s Pharmacy in White Rock for the next ten years. Jeff retired as the Parks Superintendent for Los Alamos County after 24 years with the County in March of 2021.

Sandy’s two grandchildren Sidney and Colin were the lights in her life. Even on her worst days the moment the kids walked into the room she would light up. She rarely said no to her grandbabies when they wanted to spend time with her. Sidney loved spending many hours drawing pictures with her Grandma. Colin would crawl up in bed by Sandy and she would watch endless episodes of his favorite shows. On good days Sandy enjoyed helping the kids learn to skate and ride bikes. Her family was everything to her.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father Reford Henton and her Grandmothers Galatha and Nellie.

Sandra is survived by her husband Jeff, daughter Rachael (Patrick) McGuire, grandchildren Colin & Sidney McGuire, her mother Kathleen Henton and siblings Debbie, Pam, Linda, Doug (Tina) and nephew James Henton.

Sandy is no longer sick or in pain. She is now resting in the arms of our Savior. We all rest in knowing we will see her again!

We will be celebrating Sandy’s life on Saturday February 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Please join us at Calvary Chapel located at 580 North Mesa Road, Los Alamos, NM.  Lunch Reception to follow the service.
