It has come to my attention that the New Mexico Supreme Court has taken it upon themselves to alter and revise the rules for admission of lawyers to the State Bar permitting and allowing illegal aliens to practice in the State!
I moved from Santa Fe to Los Alamos, New Mexico August 15, 1943, at the age of six when Los Alamos was the most secret city in the world. It was a highly regimented and regulated run community and laboratory that was strictly operated by the U.S. Federal Government and Military for the required need of security.
Every family that resided in Los Alamos at that time had to be employed to gain entry, and my father worked for The Zia Company for thirty-five years. Rules for admission into Los Alamos was strict as it was illegal to enter without proper clearance. Hundreds of Security guards surrounded the laboratory and community including many on horseback near the outer mountain secure sites. No one special grouping of personnel could revise the rules for admission. This applied to all early business pioneers that came to Los Alamos by helping to create a normal community. Establishments such as George Hillhouse Bakery, Gunter Drug Store, Lee Metzger Hardware Store and Gas Station, Hall’s and Thunderbird Shoe Stores, and all the other great merchants who began their business in the original Community Center.
Seventy-nine years later the New Mexico Supreme Court has completely bypassed the appropriate legal system without obtaining input and comment from the residents of New Mexico by altering and revising the rules for admission of lawyers to the State Bar by permitting and allowing illegal aliens to practice law in the state.
When these wayward individuals gathered to formulate this insane and highly inappropriate process the Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Mr. Steve Pearce put it wisely. “The court, without procedure and without public input, amended the rule”.
Can you imagine what would have happened to Los Alamos, the state of New Mexico, the United States, and the World had Dr. Robert Oppenheimer and staff allowed illegal personnel to enter the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory to practice, research and develop nuclear weaponry without the necessary proper and legal clearance process?
Having been raised in Los Alamos those years remain sacred to me along with the fondest memories. To keep current with my hometown and state I view The Los Alamos Daily Post website frequently. I am deeply saddened by what I see happening with NO ONE standing up to defend what is right or rejecting what is wrong. The State, Land of Enchantment, is now being run and operated by left leaning misguided politics that will eventually destroy lovely communities such as Los Alamos, and the world renowned Laboratory.
I have been gone from my hometown, and state for the past forty years, but I have never forgotten. When the road you travel darkens, look for the stars to guide the way, and I feel certain that there remains many “bright” stars in New Mexico that will not allow this to happened.
