Michelle Lujan Grisham today signed an agreement between the state of New Mexico and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to establish the Quantum Frontier Project, a new partnership designed to accelerate the development, testing, and validation of emerging quantum technologies.

The Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) has acquired several robotic mowers from Husqvarna to test the effectiveness and efficiency of these battery-driven robotic mowers – they are like Roomba’s, but for grass! “We are excited to bring this cutting-edge technology to Los Alamos,” said Community Services Director Cory Styron. “These mowers are expected to improve the turf health and allow for staff to work on other details in the landscape”.

GRANT COUNTY — Aug. 31, 2025, at approximately 3:09 p.m., District 12 Officer Walker Eby responded to a call concerning a vehicle that had overturned on its side due to flooding on Stephens Road, near Buckhorn.

Upon arrival, Officer Eby observed a woman, a six-year-old child, and their dog sitting on their vehicle, which had been overturned by dangerous flooding currents. Governor Signs Emergency Order For Mora County Flooding

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued two emergency orders on Friday to make $1.5 million in state funding available state agencies responding to the flooding in Mora County.

Following heavy rainfall on Aug. 26 and 27, flood-related damages have been assessed and reported on both public and private property. Mora County officials have requested assistance with repairs to county roads, swift water rescue teams, and sandbags.
