The Los Alamos County Fair & Rodeo got underway Friday and continues through Sunday. Events kicked off with the Summer Concert Friday night and this morning’s parade down Central Avenue.
The remainder of today and Sunday are filled with exhibits, the rodeo, and the Sheriff’s Cowboy Dinner & Dance this evening at the Posse Lodge.

FBI: Hogback, New Mexico Man Faces Up To 10 Years In Prison After Violent Altercation Leaves Woman Injured

ALBUQUERQUE – A Hogback (near Gallup) man is facing federal charges after an argument escalated into violence in front of multiple witnesses.
According to court documents, on June 19, 2025, Renaldo Descheny, 43, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, assaulted Jane Doe by strangling her and striking her in the face with a firearm. The assault resulted in a laceration requiring hospital treatment.
