Giving Puppies and Kittens as Gifts

Los Alamos

Having an answer that will delay the expectation of owning a pet to a time that is more appropriate is a good start for those who Read More

For Los Alamos Kiwanis

When Kurt Deshayes asked Bernard “Bun” Ryan to speak at Los Alamos Kiwanis Nov. 19, Bun said yes immediately, but neither man was sure exactly what Bun’s topic should be. Finally, they agreed that he should “just talk about life.”

It was a good choice. Bun (as everybody calls him) has lived a remarkably full life—for almost 90 years. Kiwanis members listened intently as he stood at the podium in Kelly Hall at Trinity-on-the-Hill Episcopal Church for 20 minutes and regaled them Read More

By KEN MILDER
Los Alamos
Former County Councilor

Members of the Charter Review Committee (CRC) are giving seemingly compelling arguments for modifying Article V of the County Charter. There is, however, another side to the story. The changes proposed by the CRC are not “benign recommendations” but are rather extensive, often confusing, modifications that strike at the heart of the original intent of the Charter: Operate the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) as a business absent of political self interests.

The actions of the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) are being painted Read More

Traveling with other people can certainly change a relationship. I have known of a few couples who started out as friends on a trip and ended up getting married later on. It’s also not unusual for an extended trip to seriously strain a marriage.

From personal experience, I can attest to being surprised at how a person I knew before traveling Read More
