Jemez Springs – A new Backcountry Shuttle has expanded the Valles Caldera National Preserve mountain biking program to more than 80 miles of trails.
The addition of bike racks to three vans will provide additional cycling access to the northern half of the preserve, which was available only once a month or during special events.

This Friday, the Los Alamos County Summer Concert Series is thrilled to present the Claire Lynch Band. The show is part of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The show begins at 7 p.m. at Ashley Pond.

This week’s Pace Race on Aug. 20 turned into a guessing game due to the heavy rain, thunder and lightning.
Most of the markings on the three mile run through Rendia Canyon and Bayo Canyon were washed away, so the run became partly a mystery run. In spite of that, some pace race guesses were really good. On the mystery run, Linda Vance was 15 seconds off her prediction, Karen Thorn was 30 seconds off and Ted Romero was 33 seconds off.
