Los Alamos Beer Cooperative Passes 100 Member Mark

- With 118 new members, the Los Alamos Beer Co-op is on its way to realizing its goal: locally crafted beer in the Atomic City.
This month the Los Alamos Beer Cooperative (LABC) signed its 100th member, passing an important milestone in the campaign to bring craft beer to the Los Alamos community.
As of mid-May, just two months shy of the organization’s first anniversary, the LABC is 118 members strong, and ready to kick off a summer season of fundraising and fun — all in the name of bringing great local beer to the Atomic City.

Chamisa Book Fair to Benefit Oklahoma Victims

Today is the last day of Chamisa Elementary School’s Buy One Get One (BOGO) free Book Fair.
Chamisa is keeping the book fair open until 3 p.m. today for community members who wish to stop by and purchase books to help Moore, Okla., which was hit by a devastating tornado that leveled two elementary schools.
Chamisa does not make any money from this book fair and has two staff members with family in Oklahoma who have volunteered to take the books to Moore.

Council voted 7-0 Tuesday evening to move forward with the Ashley Pond Renovation and Improvement Project. The project is set to get underway in June. Two Barranca students placed first and second in a nationwide math test called “Kangaroo math.”
Danielle Ensberg placed first in the state and Leah Wolfsberg placed second. Both girls happen to be in the same class at Barranca Mesa being taught by Mrs. Ladino.
