Los Alamos Police Expand ‘Prescription Drug Take Back Day’ to White Rock

Det. Sgt. Oliver Morris and his team at the Los Alamos Police will host a “Prescription Drug Take Back Day” 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27 in the east parking lot of Los Alamos Medical Center, 3917 West Road.
Morris explained that senior citizens in White Rock contacted his office saying they would have difficulty going up to Los Alamos to turn in their unused and out of date pills.

Composting Returns to Los Alamos CountyThe new Los Alamos County composting facility at the old wastewater treatment plant in Bayo Canyon is set to be complete in fall 2013.
The County composting program was discontinued in 2011 due to closure of the County landfill and odor issues.

Two Dead, Dozens Wounded in Boston Marathon Explosions
Breaking News:
At 2:50 p.m. east coast time today, two explosions about 20 seconds apart killed two people and injured dozens more, according to multiple news reports.
The explosions occurred near the finish line at the Boston Marathon where runners and spectators crowded the area.
Most recent reports are calling these explosions a “terrorist attack” and officials have shut down the air space over Boston.
