Gloria Cordova was rear-ended while driving her car, giving her whiplash. Every morning since the accident, she has suffered from a severe headache and pain radiating from the back of her head, down her neck and into her back.
Although the soreness usually dissipated by the middle of the day, she would experience vertigo whenever she looked up or down, and she could never fully relax.
“When I was at rest I would realize that my neck was killing me and my headache was still there,” she said. “It really did affect my entire day.”

The Los Alamos Daily Post is launching a continuing series of columns concerning Pajarito Plateau history written by Dorothy Hoard, Judy Machen, Heather McClenahan, Janie O’Rourke, Georgia Strickfaden and Sharon Snyder – collectively known as the “History Nuts.”
To be labeled a “nut” is not generally a compliment, but these six local historians take pride in being affectionately called nuts because in this case the term carries respect for their research and publishing efforts related to Los Alamos.

Wildflower Neophytes Walk with Chick Keller
Chick Keller expounds on the inter-relationships between plants and insects during the Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s (PEEC) Wildflower Walk Thursday evening. Sixteen neophytes learned how to identify wildflowers now blooming in Los Alamos. The group met at PEEC on Orange Street for an introductory lecture and received a handout of species to watch for during their walk. PEEC’s monthly Wildflower Walks continue through September. Edna E. Marx Aug. 9, 1920 – May 8, 2012
On May 8, 2012, Edna E. Marx passed away at the age of 91 at Los Alamos Medical Center. Edna was born August 9, 1920 in Arena, Wisconsin, as the only child of Oran McIntosh and Charlotte Porter. She attended East Side High School and at 16 she met her future husband Joseph E. Marx. At 22, they married and that same year welcomed their first daughter, Charlotte Anne. Over the next four years they welcomed two more daughters, Mary Anne and Barbara Anne.
