ART News:
Play with Clay is a new five-week clay art and wellness experience open to everyone age 14 and older.
The classes begin 3-6 p.m., Jan 31 at Fuller Lodge at 2132 Central Ave. in downtown Los Alamos.
The Art Center Clay Studio will allow participants the opportunity to learn about wellness, coping skills and the benefits of art making, while being creative in the clay studio.
Sessions include mental health wellness education and clay instruction led by local art therapy interns Jane McConnell and Lauren Sherwood. New participants are welcome every week but must reserve a spot by emailing playwithclayLA@gmail.com.
No art experience is necessary and while the classes are free, a suggested donation of $3 is recommended for each session to help cover material costs.
The Jan. 31 session will focus on an Intro to Art as Wellness with Clay Instruction: The Basics and Pinch.
