Agenda items include:

  • Recommendations by the Los Alamos Resiliency, Energy and Sustainability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • A public hearing on the sewage rate schedule and charges. The Board of Public Utilities recommends proposed increases that are 2 percent per year for four years, with the first increase taking effect Oct. 1. If approved, the increases would follow three annual increases that were previously approved by the County Council. The last of those three increases took effect in October 2021. The proposed increases affect sewer charges across the board—monthly service fees, flat rates for residential customers and variable rates for commercial and non-residential customers. For residential customers, the increases equate to $1.14 per month the first year, plus $1.16 per month the second year, plus $1.19 per month the third year, and an additional $1.21 per month the fourth year.
  •  A public on adopting code ordinance No. 02-322, which would amend certain sections of Chapter 22 in the County Code. According to the staff report in the agenda, adoption of this code would assist the Fire Marshal’s office in evaluating for the minimum requirements of fire and life safety.
  • A public hearing on Resolution No. 22-02, which would authorize the County to submit an application to the Department of Finance and Administration, Local Government Division, to participate in the Local DWI Grant and Distribution Program.
  • A public hearing on Resolution No. 22-03, which supports authorizing an application for funding assistance to the New Mexico Department of Transportation through FY2023 Municipal Arterial Program for the Rose Street Reconstruction Project.
  • A report on the results of the 2021 Los Alamos County Code Enforcement Survey.
