BANDELIER News:
The National Park Service has closed the Alcove House Site at Bandelier National monument due to concerns over the structural stability of the archeological site and exhibit.
Historic masonry repairs dating to the 1930s have developed a network of cracks. In recent days, masonry at this location has become dislodged, raising concern for visitor safety.
The National Park Service is actively engaged in planning repairs for the site.

WHAT IS A RED FLAG WARNING?
A Red Flag Warning is issued by National Weather Service (NWS) to call attention to critical weather conditions that may result in extreme fire behavior.
Critical weather conditions include: sustained winds, low relative humidity, high temperatures and high fire danger. A combination of any of these conditions must occur simultaneously for three or more hours across any portion of a fire weather zone.

Rocks Fall on Main Hill Road

Traffic is moving smoothly after crews removed rocks that slid onto the Main Hill Road early this morning.
The minor rockslide occurred following Tuesday’s rain and snow and the overnight by freezing temperatures.
