Council Approves Community Health Action Plan

The Los Alamos County Council this evening approved 6-0 the Community Health Action Plan as prepared by the Los Alamos Community Health Council. Councilor David Izraelevitz was absent. BREAKING NEWS: Three-Car Accident Near Anderson Overlook

Updated: (4:12 p.m.) Both lanes now open; (3:58 p.m.) with additional details and photos.

Emergency responders are on the scene of a three-vehicle accident that occurred a short while ago just east of Anderson Overlook on the main hill road. The extent of injuries, if any, are not known at this time.  No crash victims were transported to LAMC after five reported victims refused transport. Lane Shift Today on East Road

Eastbound traffic on Trinity Drive will be shifted to the center dividing lane at the location where Trinity Drive turns into East Road today.

Construction crews replacing a section of natural gas line along the south side of East Road will excavate into the road to tie the new line into the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities gas distribution system. 

Westbound traffic on East Road and Trinity will be unaffected. The lane shift for eastbound motorists will begin at the Central/Trinity fork until just before Canyon Drive on East Road.

Gas Safety-Annual Leak Survey Underway

DPU News:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities is conducting its regular annual maintenance survey of the natural gas distribution system.

“Every year, as required by the U.S. Department. of Transportation, we walk the gas lines comprising the county’s distribution network, to detect and repair gas leaks of any size,” said Deputy Utilities Manager for Gas, Water & Sewer, Timothy Glasco.
