BREAKING NEWS: Injured Hiker Rescued
Los Alamos firefighters, assisted by Los Alamos police officers, located and rescued an adult male with injuries who had fallen near the area at the bottom the Main Hill Road near the wastewater treatment plant a few minutes ago. Battalion Chief Paul Grano explained at the scene that the man had what initially appears to be minor injuries, adding that LAFD transported the man to Los Alamos Medical Center. Photo by Carol A. Minor Injuries Reported in Morning Bicycle Accident
Staff report
Minor injuries were reported in an accident at about 8 a.m. today near Diamond Drive and Sandia Street.
A bicyclist was riding south on Diamond Drive when a motorist heading northbound on Diamond Drive turned left on to Sandia Street and failed to yield the right of way to the bicyclist.
The Los Alamos Fire Department treated the bicyclist for minor injuries at the scene. The Bicyclist declined transport to Los Alamos Medical Center.

Los Alamos County Council recognized and honored Police Chief Wayne Torpy this evening in Council Chambers for his leadership in keeping the community safe and protesters calm and peaceful during the annual Hiroshima demonstration held Sunday in the townsite and Monday at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
